Jessica & Nickolas' Irish Destination Wedding at Belleek Castle

Mayo’s Belleek Castle is an exceptionally popular venue for couples looking for a real Irish fairytale castle destination wedding. When Jessica and Nickolas discovered Belleek Castle, they knew they’d found their dream Irish destination wedding venue.

The happy couple travelled from Colorado to Ballina in Co. Mayo and spent a week at Belleek Castle, their dream destination. They were joined by their closest family and friends from the US. As a result, this group of 50 or so made it their business to celebrate their big day in style!

Bride Jessica opted for a truly unique wedding dress. Her ‘something blue’ was a regal blue dress to match her tiara and hairpiece, a real royal standout colour! Both bride and groom got ready for their big day on site at Belleek Castle. This was great, as it meant we had loads of time to shoot with groom Nickolas and his groomsmen before the ceremony. These guys had plenty of fun learning to pour pints of Guinness and hanging out as Lords of the Castle.

The Perfect Castle Wedding Ceremony

Jessica and Nickolas’ Irish destination wedding ceremony took place in the Stables at Belleek Castle. The stunning on site ceremony venue is a dream to shoot. Every day is a different day there! This couple’s ceremony had loads of elements that reflected their Irish castle wedding. This was the first time I’d seen an Irish whiskey ceremony. The bride and groom mixed a bespoke Irish whiskey blend in a cask as part of their ceremony. What a treat they have to look forward to in years to come! Their wedding rings were brought down the aisle by a white barn owl. He featured strongly for the rest of their ceremony, and definitely added a lovely touch to the images of their vows and exchange of rings.

Bridal Portraits to Treasure Forever

The grounds at Belleek Castle make for a great spot for a couple’s shoot and bridal party images. These gorgeous images will forever be a core part of their treasured Irish destination wedding memories. You can really see they had loads of fun during their shoot. We shoot candid, documentary style coverage, which was perfect to catch the fun as this bridal party celebrated. There’s always time for bridal portraits, and here, Belleek really didn’t disappoint. Jessica definitely made the most of the castle’s features for the couple’s shoot. She was very at home in this regal setting, and it made some gorgeous shots of the happy couple!
