This bride and groom are a GAA wedding day match made in heaven!
This bride and groom are a GAA match made in heaven!
It was very clear from the outset that Dave and Elizabeth are a couple who share a real love and
passion for the GAA, although their loyalties lie in different counties and codes. They knew their day would have to be a GAA wedding day theme. Their attention to detail was incredible – the wedding day match tickets might almost have gotten you in to Croke Park!
Their GAA wedding day was full of traditions and links to their families, even down to the bride’s something old, a hand embroidered gloves and gold coins from her parents’ wedding day.
We got some gorgeous shots during the morning preparations at the bride’s house. The garden
made for some really beautiful bridal portraits that I know Elizabeth will cherish forever. Her family
and all the neighbor’s then turned out in force to send her off to Ballintubber Abbey to get married!
Ballintubber Abbey is such a special wedding venue. It always makes for amazing imagery, and I
especially love the arched doorway and the amazing bride and groom silhouettes it creates. And this
bridal party had great fun during the bridal photo shoot there! Those old arches at Ballintubber
Abbey are the perfect spot for a bridal party portrait.
The wedding reception took place at Breaffy House Hotel, always a popular Mayo wedding venue – and a popular Mayo GAA venue too! I think it’s a particularly great place to get those candid group shots of family and friends that are so special to have as part of your wedding photography. I love wandering around capturing everyone looking so well and having a great time on your wedding day. They are great wedding images to have to look back on in the future.
