A Markree Castle Wedding – where you are king and queen for your wedding day

Markree Castle is an exceptional castle wedding venue in Sligo, and one of my favourites to work in.
There’s just to the castle as a venue for the wedding photographer to work with and it always results
in the most amazing bridal couple shoots and wedding albums.
Sean and Sabrina celebrated their wedding at Markree Castle surrounded by their family and friends.
Like so many others these days, their wedding day was a very family focused event with their
children front and centre of their wedding celebrations.
Their civil wedding ceremony was held in Markree Castle’s own private chapel, and their children
were an important part of their ceremony. Afterwards, we explored the grounds with the couple to
make the most of this most romantic of wedding setting. The formal gardens are perfect for a
couple’s shoot, with the most amazing trees, that stunning castle as a backdrop and the very cool
oversized chess board on the castle lawns. It makes for some stand out images!
Of course, Markree Castle has its own very unique draw that sets it apart from most west of Ireland
wedding venues – it has its own resident Irish Wolfhound Roisin! Roisin is sometimes star of the
show at Markree Castle, and you can be sure she was a real hit with the kids in this wedding party!
Sean and Sabrina opted for our half-day wedding package, which is increasingly popular, particularly
for smaller weddings. On this package we meet you at your ceremony venue, and coverage includes
your ceremony, some relaxed shots of your family and friends at your drinks reception and a
